Root Cause Wellness & Aesthetics was born from a belief that the way we approach aging deserves to evolve.
As a nurse practitioner, I've always valued looking beyond an individual concern to understand the person experiencing it. In aesthetic medicine, that same philosophy means considering not only how someone wants to look, but also their individual priorities, overall wellness, and long-term goals.
I founded Root Cause to create a different kind of experience—one where clinical knowledge meets aesthetic artistry, where recommendations are grounded in thoughtful assessment, and where patients feel heard rather than hurried.
My goal has never been to change what makes someone unique. It's to help them approach aging with confidence, intention, and a greater understanding of their options.
Because the most meaningful results begin with understanding the whole person.

Biography
Founder | Nurse Practitioner | Regenerative Aesthetics & Longevity-Focused Wellness
Where clinical science, aesthetic artistry, and personalized care converge.
A Bay Area native, Kristin Gisler founded Root Cause Wellness & Aesthetics with a vision to create something beyond the traditional aesthetic practice—an experience where regenerative aesthetics, functional medicine, and longevity-focused wellness come together through thoughtful, individualized care.
Kristin graduated with honors from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California, earning her Master of Science in Nursing. While working at Kaiser Permanente's Vacaville Trauma Center, she pursued her interest in medical aesthetics, completing nurse injector training and a medical aesthetic internship in Plastic Surgery.
Drawn to the intersection of clinical science and aesthetic artistry, Kristin continued her education at Touro University in Vallejo, California, obtaining her Nurse Practitioner certification. She has since pursued several advanced aesthetic trainings, cadaver course, and continually refines her approach to facial rejuvenation, regenerative treatments, and natural-looking results.
Her clinical interests eventually expanded beyond aesthetics.
Kristin holds additional training in functional medicine and certification through The Menopause Society (formerly the North American Menopause Society, or NAMS), further supporting her interest in individualized wellness and the complexities of aging.
Through her professional collaboration with Dr. Krista Ramonas, a physician and surgeon specializing in longevity medicine, Kristin continues to integrate medical knowledge with a more comprehensive perspective on aesthetic and wellness care.
With an additional master's degree in Healthcare Administration and Finance, Kristin brings together her interests in medicine, business, and artistry to create the experience she envisioned for her patients.
Today, Root Cause reflects that philosophy: an elevated, individualized practice where clinical judgment meets aesthetic refinement, where authenticity matters more than trends, and where patients are encouraged to approach aging with confidence and intention.
